The Scottish Government has granted consent for the 4.1 GW Berwick Bank offshore wind farm, located about 38 kilometres east of the Scottish Borders coastline. Scottish ministers have issued a Section 36 consent for the main offshore wind farm array in the outer Firth of Forth off the East Lothian coast.
This marks the final major consent required for the project to proceed after more than a decade of development by SSE Renewables. The project will now depend on securing a Contract for Difference (CfD) and reaching a final investment decision before construction can move forward.
