SMST has received a contract from Norwegian shipbuilder Vard to supply mission equipment for two additional Service Operation Vessels being built for North Star. The vessels form part of a long-term charter agreement between North Star and RWE.
The new hybrid-powered vessels will feature SMST’s Telescopic Access Bridge L2, a motion-compensated gangway designed to enable safe transfer of offshore technicians. Each vessel will also be equipped with a 5-tonne motion-compensated crane to support efficient cargo handling.
SMST has already provided similar systems for the first two commissioning service operation vessels, the Grampian Eagle and Grampian Kestrel, which will also operate for RWE.
