Synera Renewable Energy has signed a long-term corporate power purchase agreement with Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy for electricity from its Formosa 4 offshore wind project. Under the agreement, a fixed portion of Formosa 4’s electricity output will be allocated to Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy once the project is connected to the grid.
The electricity will then be sold by Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy to corporate customers through its platform. The Formosa 4 offshore wind project is planned off the coast of Miaoli County in Taiwan. It secured 495 MW of capacity in the first auction round of Phase 3 Zonal Development in 2022 and received its establishment permit in late 2024. The project is expected to supply enough renewable electricity to meet the annual demand of around 500,000 households once operational.
