The Salamander project will use Odfjell Oceanwinds Deepsea Star semisubmersible steel foundationOdfjell Oceanwind has acquired Ørsted’s 80% share in the Salamander Offshore Wind Farm. The company will work with the remaining shareholders, Simply Blue Group and Subsea7, to advance the project as a demonstration for commercial-scale floating offshore wind.

Salamander is a 100 MW floating offshore wind project in Scotland, located 35 kilometres off Peterhead. The project was awarded an Exclusivity Agreement for a seabed lease by Crown Estate Scotland in the INTOG leasing round and recently received section 36 consent from the Scottish Government. The project will use Odfjell Oceanwind’s Deepsea Star semisubmersible steel foundation.
