First foundation installed at RWE's Thor offshore wind farm in Danish North Sea

The first of 72 monopile foundations for RWE’s 1.1GW Thor offshore wind farm has been installed in the Danish North Sea. Located around 22 kilometres off the west coast of Jutland, the monopiles were transported from the heavy-lift terminal in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, and installed by the vessel Les Alizés.
Metocean study completed for offshore wind planning in Ireland’s south coast

Venterra has confirmed the completion of a regional metocean characterisation study for the South Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan (SC-DMAP). Commissioned by Ireland's Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), the study supports preparation for the country’s forthcoming Offshore Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (ORESS) Tonn Nua offshore wind auction.

Teesport Offshore Gateway proposal aims to support offshore wind deployment

PD Ports has announced plans to develop the Teesport Offshore Gateway into a hub for offshore wind manufacturing and installation. The proposed facility will include a deep-water quay of up to one kilometre in length, providing unrestricted access to the North Sea. It is intended to support both floating and fixed-bottom offshore wind technologies.
Goldwind sees strong Q1 2025 growth in sales, profits and order volume

Between 1 January and 31 March 2025, Goldwind’s external wind turbine sales totalled 2,587.65MW, marking an 80.16% increase year-on-year. Turbines rated below 4MW accounted for 3.00MW, or 0.12% of total volume. Units in the 4MW to 6MW range contributed 760.95MW, making up 29.41%, while turbines rated at 6MW and above represented the largest share at 1,823.70MW, or 70.47% of sales.
